Inter-state gang of thieves busted in Uttar Pradesh

The police today busted an inter-state gang of robbers involved in the theft of transformers and cars with the arrest of eight people in Muzzafarnagar.

Acting on a tip off, police arrested the eight and recovered 300 transformers from them among other items.

300 power transformers, three car and a motor cycle have been recovered from Bhesani village in the district yesterday, deputy SP Shive Ram Yadav said.

The eight have accepted that they robbed the 300 transformers that were found missing from Western Uttar Pradesh a few days ago, he added.
