Inquiry ordered into irregularities in widow pension scheme in Ghaziabad

An inquiry has been ordered into alleged irregularities into widow pension scheme in social welfare department in Ghaziabad, officials said.

The issue came to light when one Dharam Pal complained to the district office that his wife Suhma had been recieving widow pension by filing a false affidavit that he had died, they said.

The district welfare officer ordered an inquiry after preliminary investigations revealed similar cases of women receiving widow pension by filing false affidavits, the officials said.
