India on Wednesday said it will hand over a fresh list of over 40 fugitives to Pakistan which it believes have taken refuge in the neighbouring country. Also, in the wake of killing of Osama bin Laden, India will use the opportunity to mount pressure on Pakistan to force it dismantle the terrorist training camps and hand over India’s most wanted.

New Delhi wants to pursue strongly with Islamabad the issue of dismantling terror camps in Pakistan and stopping support to Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen — militant organisations targeting India, home ministry official said.
“Use of terrorism by Pakistan as a policy to further strategic goals is unacceptable to India. While we talk and work on confidence building measures, there is no closure on this aspect since India being a target of terror groups emerging from Pakistan is not yet sorted out. Hope Pakistan will be more open to their approach on terrorism now. Hope it uses this as a means to control jihad mindset and LeT operations against India,” home ministry official said.

The official said use of terrorism as a policy and pushing Jaish, LeT and Haqqani network to further strategic goals was unacceptable and Pakistan needed to address Indian concerns regarding these.

India said it did not want US forces to withdraw from the region, particularly Afghanistan. Meanwhile, BJP urged government to review its decision to restore peace talks with Pakistan.
