India may give BlackBerry more time for solution

India has insisted it would block some BlackBerry services next week if the smart-phone maker did not address security concerns, and government officials said they were hopeful of a solution soon.

India may extend an August 31 deadline in its standoff with Research In Motion if the BlackBerry maker says it has a solution and asks for more time, a senior government source said on Friday.               
 
"If they say we have a solution and ask for time then we will see," the official said.
