The home secretaries of India and Pakistan will kick-start high-level dialogue between the two countries on Monday to thrash out pending issues including exchange of information about the perpetrators of 26/11 attacks.

Being held in the backdrop of cricket diplomacy unfolded by prime minister Manmohan Singh’s invitation to his Pakistan counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani to witness Indo-Pak world cup semi-final, the two sides will be holding this level of dialogue after a gap of two years.

Home Secretary Gopal Pillai is all set to ask his counterpart Qamar uz Zaman, who reached here on Sunday, to provide voice samples of Zaki ur Rahman Lakhvi, Zarar Shah and Abu-al-Qama among others to conclude the Mumbai terror attack investigations. On his part, Zaman has top on his list the issues related to Samjautha Express train blast which was allegedly masterminded by right-wing terrorists.

In the new found bonhomie propelled by the arch-rivals facing each other in Mohali, the wish list on the two sides remains the same that has been hanging fire ever since 26/11 terror attacks in 2008. Pakistan’s reluctance to cooperate in bringing to the book those involved in Mumbai terrorist attack will be India’s prime concern and would renew its demand for voice samples of 33 terrorists and their harbours who were guiding the operation sitting in Pakistan.
New Delhi is also slated to reiterate its demand t send a commission to Pakistan to question jailed Lashker-e-Toiba terrorists in connection with attack.

So far, Islamabad has been snowballing India’s demand and has raised a counter demand for questioning some of the Indian officials connected with the probe.

Meanwhile, a seven-tier security network has been planned Mohali in wake of intelligence agencies inputs that LeT, HUJI and Indian Mujhahideen were planning to target the match venue. The entire area around Chandigarh, near Mohali, will be declared a no- fly zone prior to the match on Wednesday with deployment of anti-aircraft guns.

Unmanned ariel vehicles will also be deployed for security.
