Union minister of state for railways, E Ahamed, today expressed the hope that United Democratic Front(UDF) will achieve 'the best ever victory' in the civic polls, for which polling is being held in seven districts.
Speaking to mediapersons after casting his vote in a polling booth at Anayidukku LP School in Kannur town, Ahamed said that the attempt by forces like Jamaat-e-Islami and Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), the rechristened political wing of NDF, to ruin Muslim League will not work out.
Ahamed alleged that both SDPI and Jamaat tried to divide the votes in Muslim League strongholds with a view to help the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
The people of the state are well aware of the ploy of both these organisations, he said.
