IMD warns Gujarat fishermen against venturing into sea

The department has also forecast moderate to rather heavy rains or thunderstorms in all districts of Suarathra region and Kutch.

Indian Met department today warned the state fishermen not to venture into the sea due to strong monsoon conditions in the state.
 
"We have advised the state fishermen not to venture into the sea for the next 24 hours as the sea will be very rough, accompanied with strong winds," director, Indian meteorological department Kamaljit Ray told PTI.
 
"Due to strong monsoon conditions and build up of a low pressure area over Kutch, squally weather will prevail along Gujarat coast in the next 24 hours," Ray said.
 
The department has also forecast moderate to rather heavy rains or thunderstorms in all districts of Suarathra region and Kutch.
 
Meanwhile, several trees were uprooted due to strong winds in Kutch today.
 
"Close to 125 trees were uprooted due to strong winds blowing today in three tehsils of Kutch namely Nakhatrana, Mandvi and district headquarter Bhuj," official sources said.
