With the CBI court dismissing the bail application of the jailed mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy and his brother-in-law BV Srinivas Reddy, the investigating agency is flexing its muscles to put the accused through a detailed grilling session.

The Reddys would for the first time since their arrest face the investigators on Wednesday. The court has also allowed two advocates on behalf of the accused to be present at the time of questioning.

After their arrest recently, the accused were sent straight to the central prison in Hyderabad without the CBI getting its hands around the accused.

Janardhan Reddy and Srinivas Reddy had filed a bail petition in the CBI court with their lawyers challenging the way the mining baron and his company’s MD were taken into custody on the charges of illegal mining and theft.

The judge dismissed the bail applications and ordered the jail authorities to handover the accused to the CBI for questioning till September 19.

The CBI, meanwhile, has made arrangements to put the accused through a grilling session. The CBI officials have prepared a detailed questionnaire for putting the duo through an interrogation of sorts.  However, after the defense counsel expressing apprehensions over the usage of third degree methods, the court has allowed the questioning to happen in the presence of two lawyers.
