A warm Sunday morning turned bloody after a 32-year-old woman was found murdered at her home in Chandkheda. Her husband has alleged that a loot attempt resulted in the murder but police are not buying into this theory. They have him under scanner for the crime.
Shashikala Yadav was found murdered in her house in Mansarovar Society, Chandkheda, on Sunday. Police rushed to the spot and started investigations immediately. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) experts and dog-squad were also roped in.
The husband Shyamveer Yadav told Chandkheda police that he was not at home when the incident happened. According to Yadav, two unidentified persons entered the house between 8.30 and 11.00 am and strangulated his wife Shashikala to death. They had come to loot the house.
Primary investigations revealed that Shashikala was Yadav's second wife. He had earlier married one Sunita, who now lives in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav has two sons, nine and seven years of age, from his earlier marriage. Shashikala, who married Yadav five years ago, bore two children- three-year-old Khushi and six-month old son Yuvraj. Yadav's eldest son Dharmesh, Khushi and Yuvraj used to stay with Yadav at his Chandkheda home.
As per Yadav, he was out on some errand in the morning when the incident happened. Dharmesh, who was at home at that time, told police that two persons entered the house and locked him up inside the bathroom to loot the house. He, however, managed to escape by jumping the partition wall into the adjoining toilet and out through the backdoor. He shouted for help from his neighbours who crowded outside the main door of the house.
In the meantime, Yadav also reached home and all of them waited for thieves to come out of the house. But, when no one came out, all of them went inside the house, and saw Shashikala lying dead on the floor, handcuffed and mouth sealed by tape.
Though it appeared as murder for loot, police have put Yadav under observation. Cops say it is impossible for a nine-year-old boy to scale a wall without help. Police also noticed that clothes from the cupboard were scattered all over the room, but ornaments worth Rs4 lakh were intact.
Cops have also learnt that Yadav has dubious character. He was earlier booked for bootlegging and possessing arms. Police say that Yadav used to have regular quarrels with his wife, which might have led him to hire two people to murder her. He may have also convinced his son to tell the police a concocted story.
