A local court here today sentenced a man to ten years rigorous imprisonment for murdering his wife over dowry demand.

The additional district judge SK Banerji also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Pravesh after holding him guilty.
     
According to prosecution, Babli was strangulated to death by Pravesh at Budhana town in the district on September 1, 2008, for bringing insufficient dowry.
