HSIIDC earmarks Rs2,100 cr for development, land acquisition in 2011-12

Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) today said it would spend Rs2,100 crore for undertaking various development works and acquisition of land in 2011-12.
    
The process has already been set in motion for acquisition of about 29,000 acres of land to meet the needs of these projects, which includes setting up of new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs), industrial estates and various initiatives under the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC), a HSIIDC spokesman said.
    
HSIIDC has successfully completed projects involving an investment of more than Rs6,000 crore, during the last six years, he said.
    
He said some of the new key  projects included an Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre (ECC) at Manesar, an Integrated Multi-modal Logistic Hub (IMLH), Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) between Gurgaon-Manesar-Bawal, industrial estates at Bidhal-Lath, Madina and Narnaul and IMT Kharkhauda.
    
All these entail huge financial investment for which various implementation modes like the Public Private Partnership (PPP) funding and Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) route, etc, are being adopted.
    
The HSIIDC was focusing on timely implementation and monitoring of these projects to ensure that there were no time and costs over-runs, Arora said.
   
The development works at IMT Faridabad, IMT Rohtak, Industrial Estate, Panipat, and  expansion of the Industrial Estates at Bahadurgarh, Barhi, and Rai involve creation of state-of-the-art infrastructure, and services like road networks, water supply, sewage system, storm water drainage system, horticulture works and electricity distribution networks.
     
Implementation of Phase-I of IMT, Rohtak, over 858 acres is nearing completion. The development works initiated by Larsen & Tubro (L&T) on turnkey basis, are likely to be completed by August, 2011. The award for Phase-II of the project over 1,893 acres, is being finalised.
