Hotel owner arrested, drugs recovered from him

A hotel owner has been arrested for illegally possessing narcotics and live cartridges, police said today.

Sukhcharan Singh was arrested last night while trying to escape, they said, adding 200 gram of opium, ten kg poppy husk and 300 live cartridges of a .9 mm pistol were recovered from him.
    
Earlier on August 19, police had registered a case against Singh and four others after it was found that his hotel was allegedly being used to run trafficking business, supply drugs including poppy and opium.
    
Fake registration papers of vehicles stolen from other states were also seized from his hotel.
    
Yesterday also Singh was found to be travelling in a stolen car, police said.
