Four people have reportedly threatened officials of National Handloom mall located at Naranpura on Friday, demanding payoff or else they would face dire consequences. They thronged the Handloom's premises and thrashed the security guards. Naranpura police have registered a case in this regard and have also booked four people.

According to police, four people went to the National Handloom mall at Naranpura on Thursday night when they were closing down. The four reportedly demanded protection money from mall officials.

When security guards along with officials tried to stop them, they got thrashed. They reportedly said that if the company doesn't pay protection money, it will face dire consequences.

Police have booked Gautam Bharwad and Rakesh Bharwad in this case while two others are still unknown. The complaint has been filed by, Mahendra Singh Shekhawat.

"They came to us and said that they wanted money. More so, they also said that if we want to continue operations of the mall, we must pay them protection money. Thankfully they did not loot us," said one of the officials.

However, this is not the first such incident  for the mall officials. According to sources, some local goons have reportedly threatened the officials in recent past.
