Enraged over the affair of his teenaged sister with a married youth, a boy allegedly hacked her to death and seriously injured her lover at a village in Lakhimpur in another suspected case of honour killing.

Sudhir Kumar allegedly killed his younger sister Indra Kumari, a class VIII student, in Khaiyan village yesterday, the police said today.

Indra and Satish, a guard at a cell phone tower in Khaiyan, were into a love relationship for past some time.

The police said that Indra's brother Sudhir, an intermediate student, had objected to their relationship several times in the past.

Yesterday, Sudhir allegedly spotted his sister in a compromising position with Satish and in a fit of rage attacked the duo with a sharp edged weapon, killing Indra on the spot, the police said.

Satish suffered multiple stab wounds and was referred to a Lucknow hospital, they said.

A case has been registered in this connection.
