Homage paid to YS Rajasekhara Reddy on first death anniversary

Congress MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family members today paid homage to late  YS Rajasekhara Reddy on his first death anniversary at the site where he was laid to rest inside the family estate in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan, his mother and Pulivendula MLA YS Vijayalakshmi and other members paid homage to the departed soul at 'YSR Ghat' inside the family estate at Idupulapaya here.

Jagan and a large number of family members took part in special prayers conducted at a church inside the estate.

A supporter of late Rajasekhara Reddy arranged a helicopter which showered flowers on the 'YSR Ghat'.

Congress Rajya Sabha member and YSR's close friend KV P Ramachandra Rao, Congress MLA Konda Surekha and her husband Konda Murali were among the Congress leaders who offered tribute to late Andhra Pradesh chief minister.

The YSR family has made arrangements to feed about 1 lakh people inside the estate today. Special buses have been arranged for the convenience of the people to reach Idupulapaya, YSR's brother-in-law and Kadapa Mayor K Ravindranath Reddy said.

Jagan, who is scheduled to resume his controversial 'Odarpu yatra' in Prakasam district tomorrow, would stay in the estate till evening.

Jagan will later unveil a statue of his father at Proddutur in Kadapa and would go to Porumamilla in the district to greet the newly-married son of Badwel MLA Kamalamma. He will stay at the residence of former MLA Govinda Reddy for the night, sources said.

The young MP is then scheduled to leave for Giddalur in Prakasam district tomorrow morning from Porumamilla to resume the yatra, sources added.
