Hit-and-run case: Son of BMW owner surrenders, gets bail

Suraj Singh Sherawat, son of the owner of the BMW car involved in a hit-and-run case on May 5, on Tuesday surrendered in a Gurgaon here and was released on bail.

A few hours after Suraj surrendered before the court, the court accepted his bail application on the surety amount of Rs50,000.

Yesterday, Chief Judicial Magistrate rejected the bail application of Rajesh alias Raju who had claimed to be the driver of the BMW that had hit a Tata Indigo car near IFFCO Chowk in Gurgaon.

Sanjay Sethi and a pregnant woman, Kshama Chopra Shetye, died in the accident while three others were injured.

Kshama Chopra who was pregnant was returning after a routine medical check-up along with her husband and his parents when the Tata Indigo they were travelling in was hit by the speeding BMW.
