Himanshu Shukla new crime DCP of Ahmedabad

The vacant post of deputy commissioner of police, Detection of Crime Branch (DCB), Ahmedabad has been filled by Kheda district superintendent of police, Himanshu Shukla.

In addition to this, eight other IPS officers have been transferred, while one deputy superintendent of police has been promoted to IPS rank.

MS Bharada, the DySP has been promoted to IPS rank and transferred to deputy commissioner of police, Zone 3. The post was lying vacant since several months and the DCP, Zone 2 was in-charge of the post. NR Aggarwal, the deputy superintendent of police has been transferred from DySP-Cyber Crime Cell, DCB, Ahmedabad to Power and Petro.

Apart from that V Chandrashekhar, the superintendent of Sabarmati Jail has been transferred to DSP-Bhavnagar, while RH Parghi-the superintendent of Porbandar Jail will be replacing
Chadrashekhar.

RV Jotangia (from Jamnagar DSP to CID Crime), Subhash Trivedi (from DCP-Crime, Surat to DSP Jamnagar), RV Asari (from Bhavnagar DSP to Kheda DSP), SR Chaudhary and JB Mandaviya are among other IPS officers who have been transferred.

Sources said that Himanshu Shukla was the best option for DCP, DCB as the post was lying vacant after Abhay Chudasama was arrested by the CBI in connection with Sohrabuddin fake encounter case.

Shukla was posted as DSP, Himmatnagar and is also investigating the NRI murder case during the 2002 riots, as he is one of the members of the SIT investigation team. Shukla also played a key role during the investigation of the Ahmedabad serial bomb blast of 2008.
