Himachal Pradesh mulls district-level disaster management plans

Himachal Pradesh government is formulating district-level disaster management plans to mitigate and minimise the loss to life and property due to disasters, chief secretray Rajwant Sandhu today said.
    
An effecive coordination was required to be established among all the goverment departments apart from seeking the active involvement of gram panchayats and other local bodies to tackle the disasters, she said at the concluding session of a two-day workshop on disaster management here, an official
release said.
   
For this purpose, earthquake resistant construction technology should be adopted without any fail. Special care needed to be taken while constructing hospitals and school buildings apart from other buildings against natural clamities, she added.
