Jharkhand Mukhti Morcha (JMM) leader Hemant Soren today called on Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah to inquire about the welfare of labourers working in Ladakh from the eastern state.
Hemant, son of JMM chief and former chief minister of Jharkhand Shibu Soren, discussed about the welfare of labourers working in Ladakh in the backdrop of recent flash floods and torrential rains, an official spokesman said.
The hief Minister informed the visiting leader that his government has created a cell in the J&K resident commissioner's Office at New Delhi which receives details of welfare of the labourers working here from the Divisional Commissioner's Office.
He said these details are updated daily by the divisional commissioner in coordination with the deputy commissioner, Leh.
