Hema's presence turns BJP worker into gushing poet

Yesteryear's Dream Girl Hema Malini, now a vice-president of the BJP, addressed the party's state conclave in Jalgaon on Sunday.

At the event, Sureshchandra Suryawanshi, a BJP official from Dhule, presented to Hema Malini a poem he had written for her.

DNA later got a copy of Suryawanshi's poem. Here it is:

Aap ke ane se khil gaye hain dil hamare
Na poochhiye ki dil sab ke kyun uchhal rahe hain
Aap ke barey mein kya kahoon…
Samudra ki shai aur aakash ka kagaz bhi adhura hai
Meri maa aap jaisi hoti to na jane hum bhi kitney khoobsurat hotey

Roughly translated, the poem says:

Our hearts are delighted to have you at this meet
Don't ask why everyone's hearts are skipping a beat
What can I say in your praise?
Oceans of ink and skies of paper will not suffice
Had my mother been like you
I, too, would have been a handsome dude.
