Heavy rains continue to lash parts of TN

Rameswaram: Heavy rains lashed in the district since last night claiming two lives and leaving 22 boats damaged, official sources said.


Police said a 32 year old woman was electrocuted as she came in contact with a live wire which got snapped in heavy winds Chattirakudi in the district. Another unidentified man was also electroducted near here, the sources said.

Police said two mechanised boats and 20 country boats anchored at the shore were damaged as they collided following turbulent waves and strong wind.

Meanwhile Madurai city received heavy rains around mid-night yesterday. The roads in the city were flooded following heavy rains.
