Haren Pandya's widow shuns security cover

The tussle between Jagruti Pandya, wife of slain BJP MP Haren Pandya and Gujarat police is far from over. The police who have been trying to extend security cover to Pandya are, however, yet to convince her to accept it. 

Pandya is not ready to buy the police’s logic that she is vulnerable because of the acquittal of city-based accused in her husband’s murder case. She said she respects the court’s verdict and doesn’t feel threatened because of their acquittal.

Pandya said if the police were so apprehensive about her safety they should have approached her right on the day one after the verdict was announced.

She has refused to accept the security cover twice earlier and has also exposed two police officials from special branch for trying to spy on her.

Pandya also rubbished the claims of city police commissioner Sudhir Sinha that women cops were posted to guard her earlier.
