Very rarely have women been associated with physical strength but Nutan Chaudhari, an Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) specialist, proved otherwise when she managed to save the life of an 18-year-old boy who had attempted to commit suicide despite she facing several obstacles.

On January 29, 2011, Nutan, who is employed with 108 EMRI services, received a call asking her to rush to Dediapala taluka to attend to 18-year-old Munesh Vasava, who had attempted suicide by consuming poison.

The ambulance promptly reached the venue to ferry the unconscious Munesh to Civil hospital, Rajpipla upon the advice of local doctors. Nutan Chaudhari immediately began the detoxification procedure using the suction pump.

However, the 45-km distance from Dediapala to Rajpipla proved too big as the batteries conked off mid-way, prompting Nutan to use her muscle power to keep the pump functioning.

With all her efforts concentrated on booting out the poisonous stuff and restoring the irregular pulse-rate, the 24-year-old Nutan was slowly exhausting her energy levels.

And, just as the ambulance reached the gates of Civil hospital, she too fell unconscious.

However, her sincere efforts did not prove futile as Munesh, after being treated by the hospital authorities was on his way to recovery and brave-heart Nutan too received praises from all corners.
