Gujarat University pro vice-chancellor wants centralised admission

The centralised BCom admission should be similar to the one followed for BCA and BBA courses.

Taking charge on the auspicious day of Guru Poornima, the new pro vice-chancellor of Gujarat University, Dr Mukul Shah, chalked out his vision for the university with improvement in the current education system as his top and only priority for now.

"I want professors and other heads of departments to come up with new ideas which could help improve the education system and also ease things for students. With the new semester system in place, I want to help students in not only completing their course but also understanding their subject without mugging," said Dr Shah.

Dr Shah said that he envisages a centralised admission process for BCom students similar to that of BCA and BBA courses. "I will discuss this idea with the vice-chancellor Dr Parimal Trivedi and work out ways to take this forward," he said.

With his background in the field of medicine, Dr Shah is also looking forward to reintroducing or rethinking on implementation of recording medicine practical to make it easier for students to understand the subject.

With an intention to completely change the current manner and system in which our education system is working, he aims to be a problem solver for students and an easy task manager for GU.
