But theirs is not the best score at CAT this year. Eight engineering students from different states have scored a perfect 100.
The three students from Gujarat are among the 19 candidates who have scored 99.99 percentile at CAT-2010. Of the 19 candidates with 99.99 percentile each, three each are from Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, and two are from Karnataka.
Ahmedabad's Prashant Gutch, who is among the 19 with 99.99 percentile, is overjoyed.
"I always dreamt of achieving this score and now when my dream has finally come true, I cannot believe it," he said. "I have been jumping from one corner of my office to another but I am yet to digest the news. It is unbelievable."
Gutch, who did his computer engineering from Nirma University, Ahmedabad, at present works with a software firm, Deloitte, in Mumbai. He was a student of Endeavor CAT coaching classes. Incidentally, this was Gutch's second shot at CAT.
"Last year, I had scored 98.8 percentile but was disappointed with the results," Gutch said. "I reappeared because I wanted the 99.99 score."
Speaking about the Gutch's achievement and the overall CAT results, Endeavor COO, Hitesh Devalia said, "We get the best students of Ahmedabad. They are hard working and extremely talented. I am very proud of Gutch's achievement. But I am not 100% satisfied the results overall because my other students who were also deserving haven't got the right scores." Devalia claimed there was some "inconsistency in the normalization process" for the final scores.
