Gujarat man castrated over affair

A man was bobbitised over an alleged illicit relation with a woman. Three people attacked Nanu Raval and cut-off his genitals for his alleged illicit relation with a woman in Kharakuva village of Dholka taluka in Ahmedabad district.

Police said that the victim, a mason, had gone to meet the woman on Sunday night when he was nabbed by her father and two brothers. Investigating officer and assistant sub-inspector of Dholka police station, Raiji told DNA that Raval had an affair with a woman.

"He was caught by the woman's relatives when he went to meet her," Raiji said.

The accused are Mohan Thakore, the father of the woman, and Vijay and Ashok Thakore, her brothers. All the three are absconding.

Raval has been admitted to the VS Hospital. Raval, meanwhile, told police he had gone to Thakore's house at midnight to get his pending salary. According to Raval's version, an argument soon ensued and the three got hold of him.

Then Ashok cut-off his genitals with a knife, states the complaint. Nine months ago, Raval had worked at Mohan's house and was yet to get his wages.

Police are investigating the matter. Sources said that Raval belongs to a lower caste, and so the Thakore's did not approve of the relation.

Cops said the incident is a one-of-its-kind and could have been inspired by the recent spare of honour killings in the country.
