Not just adults, even children were inspired to support Anna Hazare's campaign for a corruption-free country.

On Tuesday morning, while Pratham Joshi, 12, sat on a day-long fast in a makeshift stage outside the Town Hall in Ahmedabad, Kunjal Makwana, 11, started her fast along with other protestors in the Isanpur area.

This was not the first time for Joshi. He had observed a two-day fast when Hazare had protested at Jantar Mantar earlier this year.
“I am fasting today so that when I grow up, corruption should not affect us. I hope my generation can live with freedom from corruption,” said the Class 7 student.

The boy clarified that though his father is an activist, he did not force him to go on a fast.

“I have seen corruption affecting us in so many ways. If I fast I believe I can help eradicate corruption in the years to come,” said Pratham, who wants to become a pilot.

Kunjal said she was inspired to join the protest after hearing Anna's speech to join in the Annshan (fast).

“She asked me about the meaning of corruption. When I explained the issue to her, she said we should support Anna and join the protest,” said Dilip, Kunjal's father.

“I want to be a part of the movement. I want to support Anna in any way I can,” said Kunjal, who studies in Class 7 in Sardar Patel School.
