Experts in the field of forensics, cyber crime apart from retired IPS officers and defence personnel attended the meet.

The day-long seminar focused on security measures and new gadgets that could help secure various cities of the country. Director general, Security Watch India (SWI), Harry Dhaul said that Gujarat government is very concerned about its security and keeps itself updated about the latest technologies.

The seminar emphasized on the need for awareness, preparedness, skill sets with emphasis on specialised training, to address the threat and challenge of terrorism.

Dhaul told DNA that given the security scenario, the police should be well equipped. However, the Indian police still lack latest and advanced gadgets, he added.

Senior advisor, SWI and retired IPS office SR Mehra said that Gujarat has the largest coastline with many vital installations like oil refineries and nuclear plants.

Therefore, it requires more equipment to secure these installations, he added.
