Gujarat cops ready for all-India police meet

Competitions will be held in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.

The state police are all set to kick off the 53rd All India Police Duty Meet to be hosted by the Gujarat Police at the Karai Police Academy, Gandhinagar.

Police officials from across India are expected to take part in the event and the police duty competitions. Director general of police, SS Khandwawala told reporters in a press conference that the state police is glad to host the prestigious competition.

The AIPDM will be inaugurated by chief minister Narendra Modi on February 2, 2010 at Karai police Academy, Gandhinagar.  The police meet will have competitions both in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar.  "All police officials will be accommodated at the Karai Police Academy while the competition will be held at the police grounds in Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar," a senior cop said. 

The last such police meet was held in Karnataka and hosted by the Karnataka police. 

"We will ensure that all police related competitions are held in the meet so as to help enrich the overall knowledge of the police officials in detecting the crime," a cop said.
