Gujarat Congress demands JLC for Nano deal

Reiterating its demand for setting up of a joint legislative committee (JLC) to go into the deal between Tata Motors and the Gujarat government for setting up Nano car project at Sanand, opposition Congress on Sunday said that the company was offered huge benefits for setting up the project.

The newly appointed president of Gujart Congress Arjun Modhvadiya who was in Rajkot to attend a meeting of party workers alleged that while Tata's investment in Gujarat is Rs2,200 crore, the state government has approved assistance to it worth Rs9,000 crore.

He said Congress will launch a series of agitations in the coming days to highlight Modi government's  shortcomings.
