Gujarat CM Modi becomes trustee of Somnath temple

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi has been appointed a trustee of the Somnath Temple trust of which managing trustee is former chief minister Keshubhai Patel while LK Advani is another trustee.
       
Besides Modi, former chief secretary of Gujarat PK Laheri has also been appointed a trustee of the prestigious temple board.

The new appointments were announced after a board meeting of the trust was today held at Infocity in Gandhinagar in which Keshubhai Patel and LK Advani were present.

Somnath temple is located on the Arabian coast near Veraval in Saurashtra, Gujarat. It is one of the 12 jyotirlinga of Hinduism.

Incidentally, Advani has been associated with Somnath temple ever since he embarked upon his rath yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990.
