Gujarat government has responded to the Centre's request of taking necessary steps
at the international airport at Ahmedabad to handle cases related to Swine Flu. Gujarat health minister, Jaynarayan Vyas told PTI, that passengers coming from abroad are thoroughly screened at the Sardar Vallabhbhai International airport, round the clock.
       
More than 35,000 passengers have been screened and not a single case of Swine Flu has been reported from Gujarat so far, he said. Eight teams of doctors have been kept at the airport for screening and checking passengers, Vyas said and added that government has taken all the measures including procuring around 12,000 doses of Tamiflu and the rapid response teams are also being trained at state levels.
       
The state is prepared at every level to combat the highly infectious disease. There is no need to worry or panic, Vats said. In the meanwhile, all the 52 major and minor Gujarat
ports have been alerted to check any cases of Swine Flu.
       
A Senthilanhan, health officer at Kandla port, had also asked the custom authorities to take all measures for scanning of crew members, foreigners, importers, exporters, shopping agents among others with the help of local health authorities.
