Govt shielding MP minister in mining scam: Ajay Singh

Leader of Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, Ajay Singh, Sunday alleged that state government was protecting PWD minister Nagendra Singh in the Satna district mining affair.

"While the state government is trying to arrest Singh's nephew, it is shielding the minister," Ajay said in a statement in Bhopal.

After a media report exposed the alleged scam, eight persons were arrested yesterday for illegal stone quarrying in the reserve forest area. However, the minister's nephew, Baba Raja, escaped, police claimed.

The state was also shielding top officials from the district, Ajay alleged.
