Govt has no plan to send additional force to Afghanistan

The government today said it has no immediate plan to send additional security forces to Afghanistan to augment the strength of ITBP personnel guarding Indian missions there.

"We have enough forces there. There is no plan to send additional forces," home secretary G K Pillai told PTI. Pillai was responding to a query whether the government has any plan to reinforce the existing force of the ITBP following today's attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul, where 17 people were killed and 80 others, including three ITBP personnel, injured.
