Govt employee held for Udhampur car bomb blast

Jammu and Kashmir police have cracked the Udhampur car bomb blast case and arrested a senior government employee Abdul Mujeed for his role in the explosion. The main accused, Ghulam Sarwar, hailing from PoK, however, is absconding.
Major General DS Pathania, commandant of the command hospital, had a narrow escape when militants set-off a car bomb explosion near the Northern Command Headquarters in Udhampur on May 2. The General escaped unhurt. However, one civilian was killed and five others were injured.

Police said during investigation they found that the owner of the vehicle used in the blast was Abdul Mujeed, a junior agriculture assistant presently officiating as agricultural extension officer at Thanamandi. Mujeed, police said, was an active over ground worker (OGW) of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). 

“Mujeed was apprehended by the SIT and questioned. He revealed the identity of main culprit as Ghulam Sarwar of Behrote Thanamandi. On verification, his address was found fake. On further questioning Mujeed disclosed that he was OGW of the LeT.
