BJP today said the government should make all efforts to get David Headley extradited as investigators head to the US to quiz the Pakistani-American who has confessed to his involvement in Mumbai attacks.

"It is a perfect case for extradition. Government of India should make all possible efforts to get him extradited. Whatever US laws may say, but if he (Headley) has committed an offence against India, he should be extradited here," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar said here.

The party, at the same time, maintained that the interrogation of Headley and the probe into his role will consolidate the evidence India already has against the perpetrators of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.

"From Headley, we can get direct evidence. We must augment our dossier of evidences with whatever window available to us," Javdekar said.

Three officers of National Investigation Agency (NIA) and a law officer are heading to Chicago and are expected to interrogate Headley this week.

The team is being sent following a communication from the US justice department that all concerned officials and the lawyer of Headley will be available during the visit of the Indian team to facilitate their access to Headley.
