Goa State Women’s Commission (GSWC) will issue notice to state police giving them seven days time to furnish details in nine-year-old Russian girl rape case investigations.

Commission’s chairman Ezilda Sapeco told PTI today that the police have not responded to the communication, sent a fortnight back, seeking investigation details.

A Russian mother on January 26 evening had complained to Pernem police station that her nine-year-old daughter was raped in the water at Arambol beach.

Sapeco said that although commission has a right to summon investigating officer to its office with the details, they will not do so.

"I am giving them (police) seven days time and if he does not report, then I will think of further action," the chairman said.

The commission wants to know the investigation details of this case, which had earned widespread criticism on safety of women in the state.

Goa police had managed to crack down the rape case within three days with the arrest of main accused Aman Bharadwaj in Chembur locality of Mumbai.

The state has expeditiously chargesheeted the case in Goa Children’s Court, which now would be heard on day to day basis.
