BJP leader Vasundhara Raje today came down heavily on Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot for "shifting" the responsibility in the bridge collapse case in Kota to the Centre.

Raje alleged that the bridge was being constructed on the same highway which was dedicated by Gehlot and then Union minister of state for road and surface transport KH Muniyappa on March 2 this year and it was the state government which was monitoring the project.

"Either the highway was dedicated in hurry or in incomplete condition without knowing the factual position of the highway," she told reporters today at state BJP office.

"It is sheer example of negligence that Gehlot being the head of the state reached at the collapse site after 16 hours of the mishap," she alleged.

Raje said one of the companies engaged in the bridge construction was also responsible for three major mishaps in New Delhi and Hyderabad and should have not been chosen by the government for the project in Kota.

She also demanded blacklisting of the company.
