Vatva police on Thursday cracked case of a retired teacher who was found dead at his home in Saibaba Society, Vatva. Police have arrested one Prakash Dhana and a 17-year-old for the teacher's murder. Police sources said that the victim, Baku Chaudhari, used to dress up as a eunuch and collected money from passengers aboard trains connecting Rajkot and Bhopal.
"A diary found at the place of the incident showed that the victim had an income of Rs1.5 lakh per month from his business as a eunuch. Of this, he used to give Rs5,000 to Sonia Masi, who was recently murdered," said the source.
According to sources, Chaudhari first came in contact with Dhana and they were soon in a relationship. "They in fact had their first sexual interaction on the train itself. Later, Dhana and the teen used to regularly visit Chaudhari at his home," said the police.
Cops said that Chaudhari owned a lot of gold jewellery, lure for which drove the accused to murder him. "They wanted to pocket the jewellery and thus killed him. But the jewellery turned out to be imitations," said the police. Sources in the police said they traced call details of Chaudhari's cellphone, which is how they got to know about Dhana and the teen.
