Gang selling ‘turpentine’ nabbed in Ahmedabad

Recently, a gang working on the sale of fake turpentine
was caught and apprehended by the Ahmedabad police. A
costly stock of the chemical was obtained from their den.

The 3 members of the gang who were arrested are
Bhupendra Tomar, Bipoo Rajput and Kaushik alias Lalo. They are all residents of Meghaninagar.

They obtained blue kerosene oil at Rs40 per litre, and converted it into white by adding a certain chemical, and sold the mixture to hardware stores as 'turpentine' at Rs60 per litre.

Their hideout located at Rameshwar Mahadev, Bhargav road in Meghaninagar, was raided by the DG Vigilance squad headed by PI RL Solanki.

The team obtained six barrels full of blue kerosene oil, two barrels of converted white kerosene, and a white chemical. The total worth of the materials is Rs30,000.

The main supplier of kerosene oil for the gang is a man
called Satyendra Jain of CTM area, who is currently wanted by the police.
