Based on the final forensic reports, the Gandhinagar police have registered a case of murder in the mysterious deaths of two kids, Umang Nai and Jaydeep Nai.

Less water in the intestines and absence of diatoms in the sternum bone made the cops conclude that the boys did not die by drowning. The police have commenced fresh investigation in the case.

The final Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) reports only 30cc water in the intestines of the boys which rules out the possibility of death by drowning. “Water fills up a person's bowels while drowning. The absence of water in the intestines (of the boys) rules out drowning,” said a police official.

Absence of diatoms in the sternum bone also revealed that the boys did not die of obliteration. Also, the sand on the bodies matched with the sand near the garage and the nearby area.
The team of doctors who conducted the autopsy had earlier submitted a report, based on the primary FSL evidence that labelled drowning as cause of death. However, the final FSL report has ruled out this conclusion.

“It is very difficult to say anything at this stage but after in-depth discussions with the FSL experts, we conclude that it is a murder,” said DD Chaudhary, investigating officer in the case. “We will now start investigations from the place where the dead bodies were found,” he added.

Talking to DNA, Chaudhary said that the police will conduct in-depth investigation and will not leave any stone
unturned in the investigation.
