Students of NR Institute of Business Administration (NRIBA) visited the Prakash Andh Kanya School and purchased friendship bands and rakhis made by the students there.
It was the best possible friendship gift they could have thought of. Students of NR Institute of Business Administration (NRIBA) visited the Prakash Andh Kanya School and purchased friendship bands and rakhis made by the students there. They have now decided to sell these to friends back in their college.
As a part of their social initiative programme, NR students not only interacted with the students of the Kanya Shala, but have also decided that their juniors will keep up this practice in the coming years, so that students of the Kanya Shala can showcase their talent this way, every year.
Shivang Ganetra, one of the NRIBA students who visited the Kanya Shala, said, "It was indeed a unique experience to interact with the students and see how they make these rakhis and friendship bands. Their efforts are definitely worth appreciating, especially because they make all these without even being able to see.''
Another student, Pritish Parikh, recounted how they interacted with the students, and learnt from them as to how they go about their daily activities. "Their talent cannot be understood and valued enough till you see them at work. It is difficult to believe that they can create so much without being able to see their own creations,'' Pritish said.
He marvelled at how most of these students do not repeat their designs. "Every rakhi and friendship band that they make is different from their previous ones,'' said Pritish. Another NRIBA student, Maulik Belvadia, said that they will now discuss this experience with their friends and juniors who were unable to accompany them this time. "We will try and make this an annual event so that even others are sensitised to the problems that these students face, but despite which, they still go on with the same determination and creativity,'' said Maulik.
