Gujarat Chief minister Narendra Modi might be facing tough times at home, but he has got admirers in foreign land too. One such admirer is French writer Chental Edwino. She was in Navsari on Thursday to see Modi closely. Her desire to meet Modi personally was also fulfilled at the programme.

Edwino, who is deeply interested in Indian culture and history, is associated with Arya Samaj. In India, she identifies herself as Shakuntala. She learnt about Modi during her visit to Gujarat a few years back. She first saw Modi during Kanya Kelavani function and later at Shala Praveshotsav.

"Narendra Modi is indeed a visionary leader and has all capabilities for handling a state. When I learnt about his activities, I decided to write a book on him. To learn more about Modi, I decided to attend programmes of the chief minister. I feel he is a great speaker and can motivate anyone," Edwino said.
Edwino's book will be in French language and is expected to get published in 2012.

She is working hard to collect details about Modi and his activities. She could meet Modi personally, thanks to Navsari district collector Sandhya Bhullar.

Bhullar took Edwino to the stage and introduced her to Modi. "Oh, he (Modi) is really a very down-to-earth person. I found him very clam, having patient ears. It is great to see a big politician fasting for people's cause," Edwino added.
