Four of a family killed in road accident in Tirumala

The mishap occurred when the family was trying to cross the road for going to the bus station after offering prayers at Lord Venkateswara temple.

Four pilgrims of a family from Andhra Pradesh were killed and three injured after a lorry ran over them at Tirumala here today.
 
The mishap occurred when the family was trying to cross the road for going to the bus station after offering prayers at Lord Venkateswara temple, police said.
 
Police said the sand laden lorry rammed into the family of seven members who were crossing the road.
 
The deceased were identified as Venkateswara Rao, Venkataramanamma, Mani and Durga.
 
The condition of those injured was not serious, hospital sources said.
 
Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams, which manages the hill temple, had announced a solatium of Rs8 lakh to the next of the kin of the family, hailing from Amalapuram in Andhra Pradesh, sources said.
