Four more die of suspected dengue in Lucknow, toll reaches 61

Four more persons, including a three-year-old girl, died of high fever taking the death toll to 61 in the city, health department officials said here today.
 
The deceased have been identified as Monika, 22, and Kamal Singh Kashyap, 34, from Gwari locality in Gomti Nagar area and Prem Lal, 51, and Saronjini, 3, from Khadra locality, they said.
 
Meanwhile, six of nine blood samples collected from Khadra, a locality with the maximum number of viral fever cases reported, tested positive for dengue at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, they said.
 
Also, a report submitted by a two-member team from Chattrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University to the state government has stated that of 13 cases in Khadra locality, nine persons died of viral hemorrhage, sources said.
 
A team from National Vector Borne Disease Programme has also begun probe into the high fever deaths.
