Former village head shot dead in Uttar Pradesh

A former village head was today shot dead by unidentified persons allegedly over a family tiff in Shikohabad area, a senior officer said here.

Ramveer (55) was shot at this morning by motorcycle-borne persons when he was returning home after purchasing a newspaper in Pakka talab locality, additional superintendent of police Daddan Pal said.

The victim was rushed to the district hospital where he succumbed to injuries, the ASP said.

Police suspect family tiff to the motive behind the murder, he said.
