Two former Gujarat chief ministers --- Shankersinh Vaghela and Suresh Mehta -- today launched a non-political forum Prabudh Nagarik Shakti Manch (PNSM) to expose the failures of the Narendra Modi-led government in the state.

The forum will raise the issues of teachers, government employees, policemen and also highlight other topics related to larger public interests, Vaghela, who was Union Textiles minister in the last UPA government, told reporters here.

Agitation programmes will be launched across the state to highlight the issues and also expose the misrule of the government, he said.

"Under the rule of Modi, Gujarat has seen errosion in democratic values, traditions because the administration of misrule prevails everywhere," the Congress leader said.

Terming Modi's government a failure in administration and governance, the Congress leader said not a single section of the society was happy with the present government.

According to Vaghela, incidents like hooch tragedy, rising crime rate and rampant corruption have led to undermining of democratic values and norms in the state.

"We want to provide a platform to the enlightened citizens of the state to come togather and fight this evil government," he said.
