A forgery case was today registered against former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Narendra Singh Pintu Sengar, who was expelled from the party for "gifting" Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati a piece of land on the moon on her birthday.

Kanpur police filed an FIR against him for allegedly obtaining a revolver license by providing false information about seven years ago, police said.

"In his application form for license, Sengar had mentioned an address in Unnao, while he is a resident of Kanpur. So, a complaint was filed against him for forgery," DIG B J Jogdand said.

Sengar already has 28 criminal cases against him in six police stations of the city.

He apparently incurred the displeasure of Mayawati after he "gifted" her a plot on the moon on her birthday on January 15. The move resulted in his ouster from the party.
