State BJP’s plans to revamp the party organisation is likely to be halted following the deterioration of health of its two stalwarts, chief minister Narendra Modi and state president Purshottam Rupala.

The ruling party started the process of reshuffling the organisation before Diwali as the terms of most of city and district unit presidents were over. The process was to resume after Diwali. However, the process suffered as Rupala suffered cardiac arrest. On the day Rupala was discharged from hospital, Modi tested positive for swine flu.

Given the ill-health of the two leaders, some district units have postponed their post-Diwali plans for get-together of workers. However, many party leaders continue brain-storming to select district and city presidents, though the process hasn’t made much headway.

“We are worried after hearing that the chief minister has tested positive for swine flu, but we are confident he will recover soon as he has strong will power,” said Jitu Waghani, state president of the party’s youth cell.

However, critics of the party say that the reshuffle will not make any impact on the organisation. Meanwhile, Purshottam Rupala has thanked the well-wishers, who wished the two leaders a long life.
