According to police sources, the racket was being run by one Hemlata Chavda, 30. Sources said that Chavda had been running the racket for many years in Nandi apartments in the area.
The police, led by ACP J division BD Sihoni also nabbed three people after they were found in a compromising position. The three have been identified as Prakash Gohil, Atul Suthar and Amit Macwana.
Three girls involved in the offence were, however, set free by the police. Sources said that there were other offences registered against Chavda including a mobile theft case and an attempt to murder. In the latter, she had allegedly tried to stab a sex worker. Earlier too Chavda had been caught by the police.
Another accused in the case, Swati Chavda is, however, absconding.
Explaining the modus operandi, sources said Swati used to co-ordinate with customers and when the customer arrived at the spot, he would be directed to a flat which was locked from the outside. But the door would be opened for the customer later on.
Sources said that Chavda owned at least 30 flats in the apartment as people had sold out their flats owing to the racket.
